"A Tree Named Joe"

Words & Music by Tom Sperrazzo
Though the desert's baking under endless sun,
And the nights are desolte when day is done;
A fragrant rose bush lives and safely grows,
And a kid lamb grazes 'neath A TREE NAMED JOE.
Like an oak is mighty and an elm is full;
Like a cedar's sturdy, like a pine tree tall;
Like them all together, yet just one alone;
Firmly rooted is A TREE NAMED JOE.
One day a seed was cast--
Thrown there in ages past;
Fed by the sun and a hidden stream,
Raised up a giant to fulfill this dream.
When the storms are rumbling or the land sees drought;
WHen the threats keep coming and the problems mount;
The rose keeps blooming in the shade below;
And the lamb grow stronger 'neath A TREE NAMED JOE.
He was meant to stand and in the silence, teach;
Royal roots sprung up to mighty reach;
The rose keeps on blooming in the shade below,
And the lamb grows stronger 'neath A TREE NAMED JOE.
