"My Star"

Words & Music by Tom Sperrazzo, 2019

Sitting on the dock to watch the twilight scene,
The future seemed so far;
Only months to wait to see the time complete,
The day I'd meet my new star.
A day that would change me,
Make a fam'ly.

In a harbor bash that flashed in massive scale,
A quilt of sails so grand;
And, as I watched, my heart
Was tossed in a sea of it's own;
Wondering what's at hand,
Just around the corner.

What will I be? Will I be on par?
Will I be uneasy reaching out for my new star.
Ships parading by...evening dims the skies;
Which among the million stars is meant to make me wise?

Sizing up the harbor and the glor'ious scene,
My destiny, unclear;
Living in the slow unsettled in-between,
The meaning soon drawing near;
The day that would call me, call me;
"Come! Come and greet your star!"
