Time to write 'nother tune or two;

Ought to get 'em done 'fore the month is through;

Hands are on the keyboard.. all set to play;

Nothing seems to happen, I've been here all day.

 

Search my mind for titles, it's an empty tank;

Search my soul for lyrics, it's completely blank;

Ask my hands for melodies that aren't inane;

All they do is play the same old lines again.

 

I GOT NOTHIN' not a thing to say;

Can't come up with anything

That's at best blase.

I GOT NOTHIN', don't know what to write;

What's the point of putting out

If all you got is trite.

 

Same old notes for the n-teenth time;

Same old words, same stale rhyme;

I've written this bridge a dozen times before;

Hasn't got a decent hook..it's a total bore.

 

I GOT NOTHIN', isn't worth a hear;

Can't come up with anything;

Better stop right here..
