"No Good at Jazz"

Words & Music by Tom Sperrazzo

Had this dream for ages, leaving the sticks for big-time jazz scenes;

Wanted on those stages; jazz violin--what swing I could bring!

Time for my first solo; rosin'd my bow for improvisin';

Crazy chords gone loco; lost on the charts--I'm realizin':

I know I'm a country boy;

Hoedowns are what I ought to play at;

Just NO GOOD AT JAZZ..

Listenin' to the drummer; hopin' his groove will get me goin';

Now I'm feelin' dummer!  Don't understand what the sax man's blowin';

I know I'm a country boy;

Bluegrass is what I'm really good at;

Just NO GOOD AT JAZZ...
