This is Opening Day!
And I've just got to say,
It's the perfect-est way to kick off the spring,
So let's get into the swing
And play
Today.

Just forget last year,
Crying in our beer;
Yesterday we missed it by a hair;
Now the slate is clean;
From everything  I've seen
We'll charge right out the gates
And start out on a tear.

There's a thrill you can feel--
The excitement is real;
My heart says the start of a NEW BEGINNING is due;
Nothing's stopping this team
From an October dream;
So grab a dog and a brew and enjoy the crew
As the promised land draws near;
We'll cheer
This year.

Like the trades we made;
I guess we overpaid;
But to win, you cinch the holes up tight;
Tell you what I love-- 
That rookie with the glove;
And when the dog days hit,
He’ll prove the scouts were right.

It's a day of blue skies,
When hope never dies;
Cause on Opening Day every heart is singing:
"We'll win it going away!
Nothings going to stop us!
No one's going to top us!
Our NEW BEGINNING begins
Today!"
