So unlike a friend of mine not to write;

BAD news is always hard to share.

I worried and said a prayer for the best;

I guessed perhaps that fate wasn't fair.

 

MAD, I wondered if somehow you turned your back

Or maybe you thought "he's just not with me.."

Our friendship got off-track.

 

HAD it had gone another day

I might have just let it lay, but just then--

That's when I got the letter you meant

To send...my friend.

 

ADD, a bucket of worry into the brew ;

I tell you what's due, to make things better--

A letter straight from you!

 

GLAD, you were just a little late;

You told me what's on your plate--I'm relieved

And I'm glad I received that new note

You penned my friend.
