"Soliloquy"

Words & Music by Tom Sperrazzo

I open my night eyes, and I see where I am;
There's a fragrance so fresh in the air;
My pillow is sweet, and a robe's at my feet;
And the ring on my finger's still there.

I look in the mirror--it's the face of a prince;
And I'm dressed in the clothes of the court.
Amazed that it's so, 'cause the man that I know
Who returned was a much different sort.

Low was the road I wandered,
Lusting for evil and sin;
Wasted my selfish young years;
The shame who I've been..

I gaze in the mirror and I can't understand
How his mercy could loose what I'd done;
Too filthy to hide, but his arms opened wide
And my father said, "Welcome, my son!"
