"I Think I'll Make My Home
in Tennessee"
Music and Lyrics by Tom Sperrazzo 2026
It's kind of funny,
But each day seems sunny,
And every soul that I run into, well they smile at me;
Not too hot or hazy;
Afternoons are lazy;
And the world just feels OK to me;
And so I THINK I'LL MAKE MY HOME IN TENNESSEE.
If I had my druthers,
I'd stay home with brothers;
But lately nothing there at home appeals to me;
The very air seems tainted,
All the girls are painted;
And I've come untethered like a ship at sea;
Papa told me not to live unhappily
And Mama said the world was wide
In consideration of the gloomy expectations
I think I'll bet my future and fly.
Every flower is blooming,
And the folks unassuming;
I haven't found a thing that's not as it ought to be;
Pace of life is easy,
Summer evenings, breezy;
And this place seems like it's calling out to me--
So I'll tell the world I'm comin';
The road looks wide and free;
And so I THINK I'LL MAKE MY HOME IN TENNESSEE.
