Not a day goes past that I haven't flashed  to that May to September,

In the sweet, sweet summer of '63, what a time to remember!

The Beatles were new and the Beach Boys, too;

The Jetsons, and the Flintstones--

WHAT A YEAR!   What a fabulous year it was!

 

But the action scene for a boy thirteeen was a place in the city

Where the angels sang and the radios rang with a voice they called "Vinnie";

And the boys in blue made a dream come true

With a run for the ages,

WHAT A YEAR!  What a fabulous year it was!

 

Sandy--oh, what a year he had!  And Maury

Ran the attack for Tommy's bat;

3-Dog, Drysdale and Fairly,

Roseboro and Perrinoski,

Gilliam, Hondo and Moose--

Oh, what a team!

 

And that 4-game sweep really dug 'em deep--

Smokey's crew was tremendous;

WHAT A YEAR!  What an awesomely wonderful year;

What a fabulous year it was--

And the mem'ries stayed with me all these years,

See it like it's crystal-clear--

Oh, WHAT A YEAR!
